Innovation Grant Supports Dana PE

Dana Middle School Physical Education classes are top notch and challenge students to maintain healthy and fit bodies. Thanks to a recent WEF Innovation Grant, the PE department was able to acquire new equipment for all PE sections which included agility ladders, dodge balls, squat bands, sand bags, and medicine balls to be used in fitness based lessons. Additionally, an online subscription and professional development books allowed educators to focus on stretching and mobility workouts.

Wiseburn Education Foundation is conducting an informational survey to obtain parent input on establishing camp programs during school breaks for Wiseburn Unified School District and community students (K-8th grades). Your response will help shape the development of these programs. Please click on the survey below and share your opinion. The survey will be available through January 15, 2019. WEF appreciates your valuable feedback!

Excitement Builds for 2019 Hack-A-Challenge
Students across WUSD will come together on February 23, 2019 at the DaVinci campuses for a Hack-A-Challenge (formerly known as Hack-A-Thons). Led by DaVinci students from all 3 schools, the Hack-a-Challenge will see students in grades 5-8 work collaboratively to build a device for the challenge. WEF proudly supports the Hack-A-Challenge event as part of our 2019 STEM programming grant to the District. If you are interested in volunteering for the event, please email us at info@wiseburnedfoundation.org.

Volunteer Opportunities with WEF

Help Make 2019 Rock Around
the Block a Huge Success!
It's almost time for our biggest fundraiser of the year. This awesome community event features student musical performances, carnival rides and games, silent auction and more. Join us for our next planning meeting on February 5th, 6:30 p.m. at Cabrillo Elementary. Everyone is welcome to attend! All proceeds benefit programs supported by WEF.

Do you own a local business? Have season tickets to a sporting event? Have a connection to share?

WEF is also soliciting donations for our Rock Around the Block online and silent auctions. It's a great opportunity for a local business or service provider to boost exposure and gain new customers to boot! And the monies raised enrich our students' learning experience.
